Ways to Give

Donate NowThe mission of the Cahaba Foundation is to secure private financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations for the state historic park at Old Cahawba, site of Alabama’s first state capital.
Cahawba’s families and friends are alive and well; they are scattered, but they are still growing and thriving.  The new Cahawba Genealogical & Historical Society is designed to strengthen and extend the threads that tie Cahawba descendants and friends to this special home place and to one another. Your membership will support our efforts.

Of course, you don’t have to be a descendant to enjoy the fascinating stories, historical lore, archaeological findings and other wonders featured in our quarterly newsletters. To see a sample issue, please click here. We invite you to join the Society and keep in touch with your Alabama “home,” past, present and future!

We are looking for the first 100 people to become Charter Members of the First Capital Society. Your $100 gift today guarantees your name in history as a founding member of this vital historical group that supports ongoing renewal efforts at Cahawba.

Cahawba descendants and former residents: You have often expressed your interest in a society and newsletter, so we hope you will show your support with a charter membership.  Meanwhile, other friends have already joined our First Capital Society.

I was delighted to find out about the Cahawba Genealogical & Historical Society, and I wanted to be one of the first to support it. In many ways, you could argue that our state’s history began at Alabama’s first state capital, Cahawba.

--Dr. Leah Rawls Atkins, noted Alabama historian

Together, we can remember, reclaim and restore our heritage and our future.  Please click click here to download a membership form.
